Here is my Merzbau (Thing) as an honour to my Art History teacher and Kurt Schwitters.
This is how it started, constructing broken glass with a glue pistol on a fractured transparent vase.
Summer is here (as soon as the clouds go away) ... ! Can't wait for the heat waves to strike us ;). When I think about summer, I make connotations like everyone else, but probably different ...;) .
When I think about summer, I think about Burning Man, an art-event at the end of the summer in the Black Rock Desert. One day, I would love to participate.
I have started reading this book from Will Gompertz during my vacation, a free translation of the title would be: "My little sis can do that too". That is probably an expression everyone knows and everyone has used at some point to describe Modern Art. Probably more often when having an opinion about f.e. Dadaïsts, installations and conceptual art which is more about the idea then about the quality of the creation itself. Is it art? Yes to me they are, but how long will these pieces last before being forgotten?
In a previous blog, I was making a combination with Sgraffito on glass and a picturen, the picture of myself at the age of 9-ish, the one I use on the About (Me) page. Well, I have picked it up again after my well deserved holiday, adding more color and searching for new views. It's just an idea in progress.
We are back for over a week now, we had an awesome vacation in the south of Spain, 10 days of enjoying the warm climate, incredible views and slow living. We would love to go back in the next years, but for an even longer vacation.
Malaga is also the birth-town of Picasso, so I had to pay a visit to the Museo Picasso Malaga. It claims to hold 200 pieces of art and ceramics, but the collection didn't had the top pieces in its collection, nevertheless it was interesting. The movie that was played about the relationship between Picasso and Braque was very revealing in how they found their style and collaborated.
Trying out new combinations, finding improvements, adding more things to the game, changing the image, passionate about evolution ...
