I have read this lovely written article from Alexandra Peers on artnet.com about this current situation where Fashion is not Art, but it is entering our museums.
Is that a bridge too far?
It appears to be for the author who brings in a lot of good arguments. Unfortunately I don't agree with the author. I think Fashion will soon, if it is not already, be seen as an important expression of Art.
I was cleaning up my studio yesterday late, and bumped into this one. I had posted evolutions before from this painting but never finished it. Enjoy!
I keep crunching on a reply on my blog from 17/06/2014: My Merzbau, and the book I mentioned in that blog. The book gave a great overview from Manet through Conceptualism ... ending with Jeff Koons, Damian Hirst and Banks. Here is the reply:
A long time ago, before everything became digital, I used to develop my own pictures from negatives in a black room. Today, during clean up, I found these pictures I developed during a trip to Calais in October 1995. I think they still have a contemporary vibe.
