Here is my Merzbau (Thing) as an honour to my Art History teacher and Kurt Schwitters.
This is how it started, constructing broken glass with a glue pistol on a fractured transparent vase.
I decided in an early stage I wanted to use green paint, the element is glass which is often used in the color green (wine bottles, champaign, ...). I used the white paint as a sculptural element and to give contrast with the green paint on the glass, the structure of the white paint is also much more smooth and gives a contrast to the ridgid and sharp edges from the glass. I'm happy I have kept some transparancy in the lower part of the sculpture, it seems as if the structure comes from the bottom upwards the top.
