I'm taking some time off during the next weeks. I have been working non-stop for almost six years and it feels very awkward to suddenly have all this free/me-time. My agenda is very empty but I made a flexible bucket list to seize this moment. I already made several trips to cities and musea here in Belgium and plan to visit even more. I want to see what is around me and get inspired by it. Get out, collect interesting pictures and compositions, see other artists' works, ... and get back to my studio with new energy.

Last Monday I visited Ghent. Between 1994 and 2001 I went to school in Ghent and even lived there for five consecutive years. It was a great and unforgettable chapter in my life and maybe the best part of my (then responsible-free) life.

When travelling to the center of Ghent, you will have to use one of the public parking spaces because Ghent is mostly car-free. This painting is based on a picture at one of these parking spaces, parking Ramen ... one of the few places I can go to with my van that is 1,95m high. My visit to Ghent started here. To be continued ...
