I have equipped myself with some great material! I bought several lino blocks, lino ink and I rented a box that also contained a real printing press, that's something I haven't done before.
Last night, I cut out a simple image, just to get things started. Last time I did this, the lino was harder to cut out, it must be years ago and I found the cutting much easier this time. Maybe they improved the material (it used to be red and is now light grey)? I remembered we used to put it on the stove, back in art school. I didn't have a stove around, so I warmed up the lino by putting it under my buttocks every several minutes, with good results.
And here is the result of the above carved lino block, a first experiment!
