"Careggine, Italy, Summer 2022"

We went to Careggine. It was sweltering hot. The color of the sky was intense blue. We parked in a park under trees. The shade of the trees made no difference. The coastline of Careggine is a succession of clubs. Some provide food, in others you can find a swimming pool. We could not get close to the beach of Careggine, but we did see the clubs, the beach chairs and the umbrellas. We ate a refreshing ice cream and returned through the park to our hot car.

On our way back we ate at a restaurant in Baita. It was a no-nonsense place with a very short handwritten improvised menu. It was a weird experience, in a funny way.

In the late afternoon we went to have another ice cream in Castelnuevo de Garfagnana with my sister and the kids. I took salted caramel ice cream that was absolutely delicious ... the best ever!
