I visited Brussels and the exhibition in Bozar: Rinus Van de Velde - Inner Travels. I went by train, because I don't know how to get there by car. Even if I would know how to drive to that location, it's not something I would enjoy. Brussels is not a fun city to drive through if you are used to the country side and small villages. I don't look back fondly on the time I dared to drive to the center of our capital to visit a concert ... many decades ago. ;)

I can enjoy to travel by train outside of rush hour. There are many connections between Zottegem and Brussels, and there is a lot of free space inside the wagons. I didn't travel by train in a long while, it was at least 3 years ago. Corona didn't inspire me to get out by train, but before that time I was already very attached to my car. Today, it felt very natural, as an extended Inner Travel, to sit on a train back to the station of Zottegem. There were few passengers. Time flew by. I took this picture of one of the stations we passed. People with luggage were getting ready to hop on a train to travel to their destination.

When I arrived back in Zottegem, I had to walk to the free parking space on the other side of the city. It's a choice I made because I didn't wanted to pay for parking. I'm frugal, ... it means I don't like to spend money that I don't need to spend. On the city square, the market traders were packing up their stuff after the weekly market.  Only the hamburger stand was still serving its customers. I could resist the temptation because I knew these hamburgers always smells better than they taste. I was only away for a couple of hours but it felt like I travelled far, to another universe ... and back again.
