Exhibition “LINES” by
Hilde Goossens, invited by Kunstrkring Waasmunster
from 14 until 22 June 2008

The work from Hilde that will be displayed at the exhibition groups her recent research and study of lines and diversity of these lines.
In her head, she makes an encyclopedia of all the different types and sorts of lines: the sensitive line, the playfull line, the thick line, the unhappy line, the broken line, ...
In her works, she especially looks for the sensitive line, the cirkel-line that playfully vibrates, contrasting lines, hatching lines. By wiping the edges of the lines she manipulates the borders of these lines and although she uses contrasting lines, she is able to achieve a harmonic image.
Her subjects that refer to her previous theme's are only the tool to search for lines, which are never the same.
The subjects of the different paintings are subsidiary, not useful in the proces of investigating lines. A message is not to be found on this exhibition, only that of the wish to grow: it is the study of lines that is the main goal.
